The South Australian Bar Association is an association of independent barristers based in South Australia providing legal representation and assistance to the community.

The Association is responsible for the registration and regulation of our barrister members and for the maintenance of professional standards and discipline within the Bar.

Become a Member.

To become an Ordinary Member of the Bar Association you must be an Admitted Legal Practitioner and have signed the Bar Roll.  In addition, you must have successfully completed the “Bar Readers Course” and a period of mentorship with an experienced Barrister.
